AOpen warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for the term specified below. The warranty periods set out below commence on AOpen's original invoice date or manufacture date of the product.

Warranty period for AOpen products are listed as below:

For CD-ROM, DVD, CD-RW, DVD burner, Combo Drive, Sound Card, Speakers, Mice, Keyboard, CPU cooler, Wireless products, VGA card, Housing with sleeve SPS, LCD monitor panel (not applicable for less than 5 dead pixels), XC Cube, BareSystem and Barebook: twelve (12) months from AOpen's invoice date or fifteen (15) months from manufacture date.

For Motherboards, Server Products, Switching Hubs, CRT monitors, LCD monitors, Ball Bearing SPS: thirty-six (36) months or thirty-nine (39) months from manufacture date.

For Networking cards and Fax Modem (internal and external): five (5) years from AOpen invoice date.

For Barebook, XC Cube, BareSystem: twelve (12) months from AOpen invoice date.

DOA (Defective on Arrival)

DOA returns must be requested within 30 days of AOpen invoice date.

AOpen shall be entitled, at its sole discretion, to decide how DOA product claims are to be replaced with a brand new product or return for credit on original invoice price.

DOA products must be returned with all original packaging and accessories.

RMA returned products shall be repaired; replaced with similar or refurbished products; or credited with current market value, determined at AOpen's sole discretion after receipt of returned products.

The replacement product/part assumes the remaining warranty of the original unit or ninety (90) days from the date of replacement or repair, whichever provides longer coverage. Any parts or product replaced under this Limited Warranty will become the property of AOpen.

Solution Products

NB, XC Cube should be returned bare for service. Distributors are required to troubleshoot completed system and return only the defective bare unit to AOpen. AOpen will reject/refuse service for any bare system with a CPU, memory, HDD drive and/or any other components than bare system sold by AOpen.

However, Bare System should be returned components only (motherboard, power supply) for repair, swap service.

AOpen shall be entitled, at its sole discretion, to reject the returned products at distributor's cost and risk under the following conditions:

  1. no RMA number marked on the outside of carton.
  2. Mix returned products with non-bare system products.

Any returns found to be non-defective are subject to a Non-Trouble Found fee of $ 50.00.

Notwithstanding the above, the limited warranty does not cover the following damage, deterioration, malfunction and problems that result from:

  • improper transportation or packing during the return of products to AOpen or an AOpen authorized service providers,
  • modification of AOpen products without AOpen's written approval, or
  • use of the product for any purpose other than its normal intended use, or other product misuse, abuse, or negligence;
  • the use of parts not manufactured or sold by AOpen;
  • service by anyone other than AOpen or an AOpen authorized service provider;
  • improper installation of third-party products;
  • improper exposure to an environment (including excessive temperature or humidity); or
  • unusual physical or electrical stress or interference, failure or fluctuation or electrical power, lightning static electricity, fire or other acts of God.
  • failure to follow product instructions or failure to perform preventive maintenance;
  • software, including the operating system and software added to the AOpen Bare products;
  • software or data loss of any program, data, or removable storage media occurring during repair or replacement.
  • any other cause which does not relate to a product defect;
  • products for which AOpen has not received payment;
  • removing or altering factory applied serial number from the product.

Shipping Cost

  1. Subject to the terms of point 3 below, distributor should cover all the shipping costs, and assume all risks of loss for Product shipments from distributor to AOpen.  Distributor agrees to maintain a general product insurance to fully protect the products shipped in the event of any loss or damage during transit.
  2. Subject to the terms of point 3 below, AOpen will cover all the shipping costs for shipment from AOpen to distributors and AOpen shall assume all risks of loss or damage during the transit.
  3. In all cases, all custom duties, tariffs, and costs associated with international customs clearance, and import duties, imposed on product shipments outside of the United States shall be paid for by the Distributor, including but not limited to, shipments of defective products to AOpen.  By contrast, all custom duties, and costs associated with U.S. custom clearance, and U.S. import duties will be paid for by AOpen, including but not limited to, shipments of repaired or replaced Products.

Packaging Requirements

  1. A valid AOpen RMA number must be clearly marked on the outside of all returned packages.
  2. Every shipment must attach approved RMA Request Form as packing list and the returned goods must match with the attached packing list.
  3. Returned products must be packaged properly to avoid any shipping damages.  Any damage or loss of returned goods during transportation shall be the sole responsibility of the shipper.
  4. Returned motherboards must include original BIOS, CACHE RAM (module) or VRM. Motherboards with missing parts will be returned to customers as NTF with freight collect.
  5. Regular RMA items must not be returned with any accessories (no CPU, fan, etc). AOpen will not return nor bear responsibility for any accessories shipped along with returned products. However, DOA products must be returned with all original packaging and accessories.
  6. RMA Tag is required for every returned motherboard.
  7. AOpen RMA number is valid for 30 days from the date of RMA number issued.

EXCEPT FOR THE EXPRESS WARRANTIES SET FORTH IN THIS POLICY, AOPEN GRANTS NO OTHER WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, AND HEREBY DISCLAIMS ALL OTHER IMPLIED WARRANTIES INCLUDING THE IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE.
